Watercolor 4.24.11
by Callagrace
This is my most recent watercolor and well, I think this is the first one I actually love. It feels done to me and its strange but introducing the brighter orange/pink really made this image work for me. It’s funny how you stumble upon an answer, I was trying to figure out what the last layer and color were going to be when I was outside with the puppies. I noticed a new flower had just bloomed outside and well wasn’t it the most perfect color to introduce. Hope you enjoy this and please feedback would be great. Happy Easter.
You have a very distinct and special style. Complex and original. I like the poppy. It completes the painting.
Calla, this is gorgeous! I think it really needed that brightness of the orange to balance it. It’s really beautiful. You should think of doing textile design, you’d be great at it!
Dear Calla, wonderful work! Unselfconscious work. What I eventually learned is to step back and let my eyes, hands and brain do their magic and keep my judging mind out of it. This is a beautiful watercolor. Which Paper Source are you at; I’m looking for special paper to photograph my jewelry for my eventual website. Using fabric has given me uneven results. Look forward to connecting with you again! Linda
Hi Linda, I work out of the Paper Source in Dedham, MA. A lot of people actually use our book cloth as a back drop for photographing so something to consider. Thanks for the comment!
